Sonpur (officially Sonepur) is a prominent city located in the Saran district of the Indian state of Bihar. Situated at the holy confluence of the Gandaki and Ganges rivers, it is a site of immense spiritual and historical significance.

The city is internationally renowned for hosting Asia's largest cattle fair, the Sonepur Cattle Fair (also known as the Harihar Kshetra Mela). This grand event is held annually on Kartik Poornima, drawing millions of visitors, traders, and devotees.

Located just 25 km from Bihar's capital, Patna, and connected by the Digha–Sonpur rail–cum–road bridge, Sonepur seamlessly bridges ancient traditions with modern connectivity.
